Set your router up
Before you can use your wireless router as a wireless card, you need to set up your router. A router helps in sharing your broadband connection to multiple devices and before you can use that function, you need to set your router up.
Ensure everything is unplugged
Before you perform any setup procedure, make sure every cable or devices including power cable, DSL modem and router are unplugged. Remove the power plug and Ethernet cable from the modem. Put one end of the Ethernet cable into port#1 of the blue LAN port on the back of the router while keep the other side of the Ethernet cable plugged in to your computer. Now use the second Ethernet cable that came with your router and put it in the any of the available port in your modem. Join the other end of this Ethernet cable to the internet port of your net router.
Add power to your router
Connect power to your router and wait for some time for the router to power up. After nearly 60 seconds, check if the router is correctly set by launching a browser and opening a website.
Try it again
If you couldn’t connect properly or open a website, you need to repeat the above steps after some time. Ensure all cords are properly connected.
Choose your own name and password
Open Internet Explorer and in the address bar, put the IP address of your router. In the log in menu, you need to put username and password. In the left side of the opened page, you will find the wireless tab, click it. You will find the name of your wireless on the top of the page.
