For any computer user it is common to install various types of programs time-to-time in order to carry out variety of functions. However when you install several programs on your computer, it clutters your computer memory and puts on burden on the resources of your computer, consequently slowing down the computer. You should regularly uninstall the programs that you don’t use anymore. If you are a Windows 10 user, you can remove programs with the help of Settings App. Read further to learn how you can carry out this operation.
Go to Settings
Click on the Start button which must be represented by the Windows icon located at the bottom left side of your desktop. You would find the Settings icon at the lower left portion of the Start menu. Click on it which will launch a separate Settings window.
Click on “App and Features”
On the left side of the “System” window, click on “Apps and features” option. Wait for some time as the system loads a list of installed programs and apps on the right pane. There would be three boxes on the top of the list of apps to help you find the app of your interest.
Locate the app you want to uninstall
You can find the app of your choice with the help of three boxes. In the top box, which is search box, you can type the whole name or the part of the name of the app or program you want to remove. When you select an app, all other programs and app will disappear from the list. The middle box allows you find the app with the help of size, name and install date. The third box will help you to locate your app on all the drives as it gives you the option of seeing apps on all the drives.
Uninstall the app or program
Once you have located the app or program that you want to uninstall, click on it to bring the “Uninstall” button. You will also see a separate dialog box reminding you that the app and its related info would be deleted. Click on the Uninstall button to remove the application. You can remove other programs in the similar manner. However keep in mind that certain programs installed on the Windows like Calendar Store and Weather won’t get removed.
